Common Name: Maroon Bellied Conure
Description: Green narrow red frontal band, becoming dirty brown; ear-coverts brown; feathers on side of neck, throat and upper breast olive-brownish, each feather edged greyish-dull yellow; primary-coverts bluish-green; blue primaries becoming green towards tip; abdomen and edging to lower back feathers brownish-red; tail upperside olive-green with brownish-red tips; tail underside dull blackish-red; skin to periophthalmic ring white; iris dark brown; feet grey; bill dark grey.

Trainability: The Maroon Bellied Conure is a playful bird and is very trainable.

Loudness: Maroon-bellied are known for their quieter natures, however, quiet is in comparison to other species of conures. Almost any conure will be louder than a cockatiel for example. However, Maroon-bellied can make good apartment birds.
Talking Ability: Maroon-bellied tend to be quiet for conures so naturally they generally dont talk as much/often either. Maroon-bellied can learn to speak a couple words however

These birds have been vaccinated for the polyoma virus. It is crucial for young birds to be protected as they have little to no immune system for their first year of life. Just as people, cats, dogs are vaccinated, we use vaccines to substantially decrease the incidence of disease in birds. By doing this we have developed a positive reputation that separates us from the "birdie mills" that do not aspire to the same standards. We have a vet on the premises bi-weekly that administer this vaccine and monitors our babies and flock.
