Description: General plumage green forehead and fore crown dark blue; bend as well as edge of wing, greater under wing-coverts red; outer webs of outer primaries blue; underside of tail and flight feathers olive-yellow; bare area around eyes and lores whitish; bill dark grey; iris brownish-red; feet dark grey.

Loudness: Red Shouldered Macaw is a bit easier to care for than many other birds in its family because of its much smaller size. With very high intelligence, the Hahns Macaw is easily trainable and amusing, with an outgoing and funny personality. Though some individuals are reported to be noisy, most will vocalize once or twice a day like most parrots, generally they are not considered very are a great alternative to the noisy large macaws for this reason.
